2021 – Midwinter
Dear friends,
Greetings from the frost-bitten reception desk of Magnet Studios. We hope that your winter thus far has treated you well, and that your post-lockdown #4 heart is beginning to thaw as the days start to get longer.
After more than a year in hibernation, we reopened the gate on May 5 2021, and we’ve been so happy to start filling the spaces up with sound & smiles again. For those of you who have already come down – thank you. For those who have yet to, we’re ready when you are.
Our rehearsal rooms are back up and running in all their former glory.
At just over 29 sqm each (4.5m x 6.5m), the band’s got plenty of room to spread their legs and achieve maximum bass stance. What’s better, every room opens directly into the garden – so easy to have a quick break to clear your head.
We’ve got hire gear like drum kits, guitar amps and bass amps, so you can walk into your room ready to go. We also have extra large storage bays to keep your gear snug between sessions.
Spatial studio
The Spatial Studio is back in action and hosting some exciting projects. Keep your eyes peeled for that iconic exposed concrete backdrop in some upcoming local music videos & studio shoots.
What’s next?
- We’re getting the solo drum bunker up and running again,
- A locally loved recording engineer has moved in & set up shop… who could it be? ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°
- We’re taking EOI’s for the gallery space, garden and residence – get in touch!
We’re taking things step by step, permitting the next phase of Magnet to evolve as it will. The continuing lockdowns and restrictions have been pretty brutal for performing artists and live music venues. We love this image from Darebin City Council about ways to support small business without spending a cent.
Have a minute to give us a quick review? We’d really appreciate it -Links: Google | Facebook
Until next time, as has been said here before:
Much love & volume
